There are a dozen direct trains each day from Vienna\, seven from Prague\, five from Munich\, two from Zurich and one from Hamburg\, Berlin and Dresden. \n\n\n\nBy Plane\n\n\n\nBudapest Ferenc Liszt International Airport (BUD)\, commonly known as Ferihegy\, is the main international airport serving Budapest. BUD is located 16 km (10 miles) southeast of Budapest city centre. It is a hub for Smartwings Hungary\, Wizz Air and Ryanair.  \n\n\n\nAirport to city center\n\n\n\nFotaxi is the official taxi service of Budapest airport. Their booths are located at the exits from terminals 2A and 2B. All cars have POS devices which means that they accept credit cards. Taxis from the airport work for fixed transport prices in the range of 25 EUR. Another option is the Airport Shuttle Minibus\, that takes you to your destination conveniently for a somewhat cheaper\, fixed price. Follow the signs at the airport to their office to buy a ticket.You can also consider taking a Bolt ride (check Bolt app) and share the ride with other colleagues. \n\n\n\nPublic transport provides easy access to the city center from Budapest Airport. The bus stops are located on the arrivals level\, between the two terminals. \n\n\n\nThere are 2 lines connecting the airport and the center of Budapest: 100E and 200E. There are also night buses which you can combine in order to get to the city center.100E is a direct bus line connecting the airport from the Terminal 2 and Deak Ferenc Square in the city center. The bus operates in both directions every 20 minutes from 05:00 to 01:20 (from the airport) and 03:40 to 00:40 (from the center). The ticket costs 900 HUF (2.70 euro) and the journey lasts around 45 minutes. \n\n\n\nIn Budapest\n\n\n\nBME is located at the hearth of Budapest on the Danube river side and can be reached conveniently using public transport\, including the Metro Line 4. The closest stop for the university is “Szent Gellért tér – Műegyetem” for all types of public transport \n\n\n\nPublic Transport\n\n\n\nYou need to have a valid ticket or season ticket with you. Non vaccinated people need a PCR test. The current situation is far better in Leuven than in Brussels. For last updates\, please check the Belgium official website. \n\n\n\nAccommodation\n\n\n\nA large number of hotels are within walking distance of Martin’s Klooster and College De Valk. Economic hotels  (€ 50 to 70) are generally located close to the train station (Ibis Budget\, Hotel Industrie\, Hotel Mille Colonnes\, Park Inn\, etc.)\, middle-range (€ 90 -100) (Ibis\, Hotel De Pastorij\, Hotel Ladeuze\, etc.) and high-end (€ 120-200) hotels (Pentahotel\, Martin’s Klooster\, The Fourth\, etc.) are located directly in the city center.  \n\n\n\nRooms are available directly at Martin’s Klooster with a special fare of  € 155 for Catchy participants. Booking should be made by  email mentioning that you are participating to Catchy Kick-off. \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nTravel Guide to Leuven\n\n\n\nBy Plane\n\n\n\n\nVia Brussels National Airport (BRU): The national airport receives flights from over 200 destinations in 66 countries every day. It’s easy to travel from Brussels national airport to Leuven by direct trains (15 min). There are two Intercity trains every hour with final stops in either Landen or Hasselt. You can find more information about schedules and fares at Belgian Railways (NMBS).\n\n\n\n\n\nVia Brussels South Charleroi Airport (CRL): This airport receives only low-cost flights (Ryanair\, Wizz\, etc. ) from all over Europe. It is located 50 km south of Brussels but has good bus connections with Brussels and Bruges. You can use the shuttle service to Brussels-Midi station (50 min every 30 min) and take a train to Leuven (not Louvain-la-Neuve). \n\n\n\n\nBy Train\n\n\n\nThe Brussels Midi station is the Belgian hub for international train traffic\, receiving multiple high-speed trains per day from Paris (Thalys and TGV)\, Lille (Eurostar and TGV)\, London (Eurostar)\, Amsterdam (Thalys) and Cologne (Thalys and ICE). Every hour\, there are several intercity trains that leave Brussels Midi that stop in Leuven (25 min)\, with final stops in either Genk or Luik/Liege. For tickets and more info click here. \n\n\n\nIn Leuven\n\n\n\nFrom the railway station of Leuven\, best is to walk directly towards your accommodation. You can alternatively take a De Lijn bus or a taxi. A (one-way) bus ticket (€  2-2.50) is valid for one hour. You can alternatively buy a De Lijn pass from € 7.50.
